Design shapes societies, values, and lived realities. The DDC AWARD 2025 WAS IST GUT is both an award and a platform that makes the transformative power of design visible and celebrates it. It’s about brilliance in design practice, but also about the courage and vision to use design as a tool for economic, social, and cultural transformation. The DDC AWARD 2025 connects these values with a clear commitment to the quality and impact of design. It shows how design acts as a bridge between aesthetics, function, and societal change.
Tobias Kollmann
“For me, jury work is the opportunity to recognize projects that inspire courage and show how design can spark transformation.”
Tobias Kollmann is part of the jury for Architecture / Space. He draws on 25 years of creative experience in spatial communication — from award-winning brand spaces, trade fair appearances, media installations, spatial interventions, pop-up spaces, as well as event-driven and participatory formats, all the way to poetic fusions of nature and lyricism. At the center of his work is always the human experience: participation, encounter, and immersion.
Submitting to WAS IST GUT means demonstrating how design embraces responsibility and enables change. The DDC AWARD 2025 is more than a competition. It is a platform, a network, and a space for discourse — driven by the DDC, the Club for Good Design. The call is open to works across all design disciplines that prove how good design takes a stance, addresses social and ecological issues, supports transformation — while convincing aesthetically as much as functionally.
Following a digital pre-voting phase, the expert juries will convene in Wiesbaden on October 16–17, 2025. The award ceremony will take place on November 14, 2025, featuring a symposium, an exhibition, and a gala that brings together winners, guests, and members of the DDC.
