Impact in live communication

Live communication has a great impact. But it’s equally resource-intensive. How do we shift the balance from footprint to handprint?

Both are true: Live communication offers great leverage – we can make a big difference here. That’s why we’ve joined the Network of Sustainable Event Agencies with coool. After the initial launch in February, several active players have joined, and that’s a good thing, because every hand counts.

For my team and me, it’s important that we pull both levers. First, that we utilize all the opportunities offered by in-person communication and live formats to accelerate change and bring sustainable solutions to market. Nowhere can we reach and bring people together more directly and intensively than there. Turn sustainability into an experience and a magnet. I’ll be speaking about this at fwd’s wtf25 on July 10 in Bremen.

And we can have a huge impact on the footprint. The possibilities of circular concepts, modular structures, new materials, and intelligent, climate-friendly logistics – we’ve been working intensively on solutions since our founding, maintaining close contact with our partners, especially Holtmann+, and participating in industry formats such as fwd: and the Art Directors Club (ADC).

The manifesto helps set new standards.

And these are important for advancing the entire industry. Thanks to Stefan Lohmann and the active core of Claudia Verena Krause, Jonas Selter, Kicki Fremmer, David Baldig, and Julien Le Bas for leading the way and taking the strong initiative, as well as to everyone who’s really pulling their weight here!

This topic is very close to my heart. Since I designed my first IAA for Mercedes in 2001 and have realized numerous trade fairs, events, and brand spaces, live formats and physical or phygital experiences have been in my DNA. Let’s make them better, really!
