Design for transformation

Takeaways from the d#7 salon at dreiform

SPACESEmanuela Zilio took us to abandoned places in Italy, in remote rural and central urban areas. She showed how these are not only revived but become new sources of inspiration. With Elke Hohmann and Sven Anders Wagner, we traveled to the future of the Rhenish mining area and had a Kölsch beer in the marina of the second largest lake in Germany.

PROCESSMarsha Simon (she / her) opened our inner eyes and not only created futures in our minds, but also sensitized us to how we can approach them effectively and with the help of the people around us. Jonas Voigt inspired us with methodologies from his seemingly inexhaustible pool of knowledge on how we shape futures (book of the same name).

CONNECT – From Boomers to Alphas: Selina Schroeter helped us understand how we can break down generational silos in the world of work and thus unleash transformation. Tobias Kollmann used a “cool cat” to show us the key role that communication plays in the transformation to a 1.5°C economy and that we need a cultural change for a coool future.

The presentations fit together like pieces of a puzzle thanks to the excellent organization by Ralf Naehring. The bottom line in the concluding discussion round:

The images of the future we create are crucial to bringing about a paradigm shift and developing positive transformative power. For me, the event was a very refreshing antithesis to the current gloomy mood and future-weariness in the country.

Tobias Kollmann

And here is the recap video:

Thanks to Dreiform with Ralf Nähring, Selina Meurer and Clemens von Gizycki and their team, who literally created space for discourse.
